Opened in October 2007, this collection is a major addition to the Classic Flyers Museum.

This collection is on loan from Andy Moreland who founded the Tauwhare Military Museum.

The collection is situated in the MASH Chopper Hangar behind the main Classic Flyers Museum hangar.

Andy Moreland’s collection started at a family farm in Tauwhare in the Waikato, and most of the collection has been relocated now to Classic Flyers.

Having these sorts of assets is something special for us. The intention of the military museum is to promote the Tauranga Military Collection as a ‘Memorial of Freedom’ in honour of those who fought to give us our freedom.
