On the 26th of January 2014, Tauranga will be the place to be when the Tauranga City Air Show fills the skies over the city’s airport again, providing a dynamic event for both Bay of Plenty citizens and visitors alike.
At the airport will be the best display aircraft available in New Zealand, with a full on spectacle from classic piston engine and jet fighters, supported by a wide range of other aircraft, including those of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, helicopters and civilian aerobatic teams.
This time there will be a practice day on the Saturday followed by a full airshow on the Sunday with a full-on family programme on the Sunday to complement the aviation spectacular. Expect skydivers, gliders, a great range of food and refreshments, a host of trade and topical interest exhibits right through to heavy military iron and battle re-enactments.
I thoroughly enjoyed our day yesterday. The organisation from the entry directions, car park management, unfailing courtesy of all concerned such as stall holders to the final wave to the marshallers when leaving the grounds was beyond reproach. As an old airforce pilot who trained on Tiger Moths and Harvards I enjoyed the flying programme immensely. From observation, all attendees, young and old, shared our pleasure. I hope today's show is just as successful. Congratulations! Regards, Ian Ness (Very ex Sqn/Ldr)
"Bloody brilliant show. well worth the money. amazing what you can make a plane do! great atmosphere and fantastic family day out... bring on the next show!" (from Bay of Plenty Times comments/website)
"We had a wonderful two days in the VIP marquee. Thank you for your generous offer and the personal attention given us by host Graeme and hostesses Jan and Sheryl. You really did us proud, and we can't thank you enough. The show was fantastic, non stop on Sunday, and the highlight apart from the Corsair was definitely the Hunter."
Hi there, I posted on your Facebook page but thought you might like a link here too. The show was fantastic, thoroughly enjoyed both days but definitely Saturday was a stunner. Just a few of my 2000+ photos...still sorting! :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/flyingkiwigirl/sets/72157629064881913/

"Thank you for organizing such a fantastic event. We brought a group totaling nine and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We booked online, came from Auckland and parked on the airfield. Everything was seamless and brilliant. Well done."
